Qualcomm’s XR team is specifically seeking a XR Software Engineer to join a talented and innovative team developing the next generation of Augmented and Virtual reality (XR) technologies. The XR Software Engineer will drive the architecture, development and deployment of core parts of our XR toolkit. We are looking for someone who has experience in the area of input for XR and specifically working with controllers of any sort.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has a solid technical background, a passion for the XR industry and enjoys working with powerful engineering teams.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with
  • Design, architecture, test and implement core parts for the XR toolkit, specifically for various input systems – like controllers, gamepads and novel input systems.
  • Work with controller vendors to expose controller functionality in game engines like Unreal or Unity.
  • Evaluate and research the use of controllers for various XR devices like AR smart glasses, XR see-through devices or VR devices.
  • Work closely with product managers, partner managers and experts on the customer and partner side to understand their requirements and with that directly influence the roadmap of Qualcomm’s XR toolkit.

Skills/Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., where experience in applying C++ is a must
  • Proven experience in game development with a major in interaction design, haptics and input.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A passion for software development, writing optimized code and using cutting edge technologies.
  • Worked previously on VR or AR projects including the use of XRIT
  • Deep knowledge of input systems.
  • Previous experience with development for mobile platforms (Android, iOS) or head-worn devices (HoloLens, Magic Leap) are a plus
